@ModeratelyLucid Seven cars in 16 years? Sounds like someone doesn’t know the meaning of “basic upkeep”.
@oswhiteboymc I was thinking the exact same thing earlier today!
i have a 2003 v6 6speed and let me tell, this thing is the beast. I love everything about the car.
As a technician for Honda, I would have to say that with my experience the 2003-2007 Accord is one of the best Accords ever built. I am aware of the transmission problems in the early years witch is mostly on the V6 models and there is a service bulletin for that problem. The problem is mostly due to fluid not circulating though 2nd gear which is cured with a secondary hose installed to fix that problem. This is mostly on 2003 models since 2004-up have cured that problem.
@ModeratelyLucid
I have 2007 Honda Accord EX-L V6, which is supposed to be as their top of the line model. The transmission in this car is absolutely horrible, probably one of the worst transmissions on the US market. I hoped they would finally fix the problem, but not so. But listen to this, 2008 model is even worse in general. They have their own design, so unlike others it whines and jerks, what a “great feature”. Also, paint chips off easily and the car is noisy at highway speeds.
BS BS BS!!!! I am on my 7th Honda (5th Accord) in 16 years. Build quality and reliability have consistently gotten worse. My current Accord (2004 EX V6 2 door) has had transmission problems (needs rebuilt/replaced now!), electrical issues (radio, lighting…), starter, alternator, A/C, paint quality sux, just to name a few. I fully intend on replacing the car this year. I’m looking at the 2011 Taurus, 2011 LaCrosse, 2011 MKZ, 2011 Volvo S40 and V50. Hope I have better luck with the next car!
the 2003 accord is the best model accord Honda has come out with yet.
I have an 04 coupe with 5 speed manual. I fucking love this car. Period.
