I should be used to it by now, having studied abit of car history and the differences between US and europe market cars, but its still kinda wierd to hear him talk about the transit connect being totally different and revolutionary. Guess where im from
That said, the transit connect is definitely one of the better looking cars of its class, IMO.
the 2002-present Ford Transit Connect is assembled in
Kocaeli, Turkey
Craiova, Romania
Sooo European, it doesn’t belong in America eventhough it by Ford.
omg you guys get the worst of our best van
what no diesel option, in the uk, we have no petrol option….
if you all weren’t such lazy drivers and choose to change your own gears the diesel connect 115ps is proper quick and with the hill assist means it never bogs down on fast starts
Fuel econ should be better than 28mpg what the hell. 38-45mpg i think i was getting from uk model
lol america gets our little van how funny, things must be bad if they are even considering one of these in the US. No more v8 vans? haha. One thing about the connect that is really bad is that as it approaches 70mph it starts dying. Going up a hill will slowly drop your speed and cause you to change down but its weird as its the same fully loaded as not loaded when approaching 70.
PEUGEOT PARTNER IS CHEAPER AND MORE EFFICIENT
you can find in Europe diesel engine
@alyr315 i know all that. im just saying since ford is bringing the transit name to the us and theyre marketing it as a vehicle for people with a small business they shouldve brought the full size transit over to compete with the bigger cargo vans like that
@alyr315 Yeah, it’s just a poor engine and trans. choice on Ford’s part. Why put the Focus power train in it. Even better, this van would do wonder with the Duratec 3.5L V6 and the 6 speed auto. and still get decent mileage.
@TeamC4BigRich You crazy? We have the Econoline already. The Econoline needs re-designing and improvements, but those EURO vans dont work very well in Northern USA and Canada. They are not made for those climates and the way we use them. They should redesign the Econoline to be smoother and less shaky.
Same thing that GM did with the Savana / Express. They ride so nice.
@giannial1985 I agree. Especially for business. Carrying a bunch of shit in this van which has quite impressive cargo space, will put HUGE pressure on the transmission and engine. This vehicle is designed for European roads, climate an lifestyle. Not sure how well it’s gonna work here. But the design is very practical.
when is the diesel coming out????? its in Europe!!!!!! its not like they have to redesign it . just bring the plan over.
@jameskuk volkswagen doesnt offer a van in North America and this is an American car pricing book… the only VW van in the US is made by dodge and re badged by VW
@SecularTechnology wow way to show your iq in the way you speak. A diesl in a light duity application diesel is used for FUEL MILEAGE. A diesel in a 1980s ford ranger or chevy s10 would get well over 30 mpg and maybe even 35mpg. A gas 4 cyl would only get 25 to 27 mpg highway. also a 1990s VW bug or jetta with a TDI motor gets OVER 50 MPG as a NON hybrid meaning it gets many more miles out of a tank of fuel even if the fuel cost more.
@GARYBRONNE coz its not got a v10 engine , ya wank
They’re isn’t a fucking diesel engine because it doesn’t fucking need one. It’s the class of a minivan for fucks sake. You diesel whores.
THIS THING IS A PIECE OF SHIT.
@bigphat200 yea… prolly wouldn’t do 70 on a texas road.. but why buy a tiny van in texas for highway use. I’d like it for my city.
@Charles2337 Sorry
@wiccanmoonman
… LOL I forgot about that.
@TeamC4BigRich amen. the transit in the uk is the most popular van by far. i’d say the mercedes benz sprinter follows.
@Charles2337 They have that already DUMBASS it’s called an E-150
Ford have given up trying to locate an air lock in the fuel line of our Ford Transit, meaning we will probably have to scrap it. Ford will not fix it. Buy Volkswagen if you are after a van.
I like ford, but they could have done better with this van. Putting the same 2.0L engine and 4 speed in the transit as the focus was stupid. They should have put the 2.5L and 6 speed auto that’s in the 2010 fusion. That would’ve been a better choice. Along with a diesel option. The 2.0 isn’t powerful enough for this vehicle
