2009 International Car of the Year. The Nissan GT-R has been rated the coolest trend car of? today by the very famous german car magazine “Auto Bild”. Nissan claims the GT-R can reach a top speed of 192 mph (309 km/h), Motor Trend recorded a top speed of 195.0 mph (313.8 km/h). It has been tested to achieve 0-60 mph (97 km/h) times as low as 3.2 seconds with launch control and 3.9 seconds without (improved to 3.5 seconds in models produced since March 2009). Autocar achieved a 0-100 mph (160 km/h) time of 8.5 seconds. With a manufacturer claimed lap time of 7:26:7 min on standard Japanese market tires, the GT-R is currently one of the fastest production cars to lap the Nürburgring circuit. The GT-R currently holds a lap time of 1:19.7 around the Top Gear Test Track, equalling that of the Ferrari 430 Scuderia. Road & Track were able to achieve quick lap times with the car on Buttonwillow Raceway, clocking in approximately 5 seconds faster than the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and Porsche 911 Turbo. On Willow Springs International Motorsports Park, Edmunds were able to achieve lap times that were approximately 1 second slower than a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with the GT-R. Several automotive journalists, including Chris Harris of Autocar, Jethro Bovingdon of Evo, and Jason Barlow of Top Gear (magazine) have compared the GT-R to the Bugatti Veyron. Harris and Bovingdon both labeled the GT-R a “baby Veyron” in their respective comparison tests of the car. The production version of the …

I really need to save up money for that haha.
Man…..$90,000+
But I still want a Nissan GT-R badly.
Same thing goes with a race legal car but too bad they don’t do that.
I can’t wait till the test the 2012 GTR or even better yet the 2012 GTR Spec-V.
toppppppppppppp car
lol is very funny if people dream but could not ever own one….
one problem, cost £600 every 6months to servive
@CemetaryGatesML
Yes the GT-R is very fast and very practical.
But I don’t like the Gundam-styling. I prefer the more clean design of Audi’s, Porsche’s, Ferrari’s and Aston Martins. Not to mention the hyper-active AWD systems does all the work for you. I’d rather have the R8 V10 where the quattro system flatters you (helps you but it feels like you did the work) instead of scolding you for trying to have fun in a corner.
@CemetaryGatesML Everything is true but I don’t know about reliability, I’ve seen it overheat during a 5 lap race on best motoring.
@ryder187mac “Corvette… triumph of? engineering….nope.”
Lame. Bye!
@FraAngelico729 Corvette… triumph of engineering….
nope.
@anarhy09 “Yes, the Corvette? is a modern masterpiece… it was one of the few cars that would ignite and explode from a small knock in the back.”
That’s…just…one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard, really. No basis in reality. Where do you get this? Should I even touch this one? *sigh* Seriously. That’s all you’ve got? Really? Lame.
@FraAngelico729 Yes, the Corvette is a modern masterpiece… it was one of the few cars that would ignite and explode from a small knock in the back.
@Mathison029 “The only other Nissan cars I like are the 350-Z and 370-Z.”
The 370Z is a gorgeous little car. Love it!
@ryder187mac I’m not tearing down the GT-R to make the Vette look better. I don’t need to; she speaks for herself. Plus, anyone who disrespects this GT-R is insane. It’s a triumph of engineering, and all respect to Nissan for this achievement. However, the same applies to the ’97-present Corvette. I’m simply compelled to respond when I see disrespect and misinformation, especially when it’s long on blind prejudice and short on facts.
@ryder187mac Attention to detail? How about a hyrdoformed aluminum frame, near-perfect front/rear weight balance (thanks to a rear-mounted transaxle), carbon ceramic brakes, and a 7.0 liter aluminum block weighing in the 180kg range (vs the VR’s 270kg – weight!) capable of an 8k redline. Think about that for a moment. The LS series is also widely used in aviation for its weight, balance, and pressurized oil system capability. By your own definition, the Corvette is a great car.
@ryder187mac “Complexity and attention to details are what make a good car (Corvette) into a great car? (R35, Lexus LFA)”
Complexity can also add weight, expense, and a tendency toward breakdown. Not the case with this car, but it’s still a truism. Simple technology, by contrast, enables cost reduction and reliability.
@ryder187mac “that comment is 7 months old thanks.”
Misinformation doesn’t become true with age. Incorrect is incorrect, no matter how long it sits.
The Nissan GTR (R35) is 1 of my favorite carsof all time along with the (R32, R33. and R34 GTRs). The only other Nissan cars I like are the 350-Z and 370-Z.
@FraAngelico729 that comment is 7 months old thanks. Complexity and attention to details are what make a good car (Corvette) into a great car (R35, Lexus LFA)
@CemetaryGatesML 4 seats, not 4 doors, bro =D
@CemetaryGatesML
the GTR is a very reliable car
the GTR is cost effective (80k)
the GTR has 2 DOORS and a reasonable trunk
the GTR? has AWD making…..
2 doors bro not 4
LMAO!. What kind of LOGICAL response do my Vette fanboys have to say about 2012 GT-R manhandling ZR1′s Nurburgring time and even beat the 1 MIL+ US Dollar Ferrari Enzo. Z06 Carbon/Handling version (12 GTR’s rightful GM competitor) is a JOKE to a R35 in engineering and a host of other aspects of the car other than just subjective looks. R35 > C6 Vette + Rest of competition

> Haters are welcome to respond to me! ENJOY! =)
@19djkarma “your driving a car with leaf springs.” Then why is the 599 GTB Fiorano using a Vette suspension. No lie. Google it.
“the thing has the worst over stear possible no comfort ride at all and made from the same plastic as a kids toy car” I take it you base this on your extensive experience driving Corvettes. No I don’t. You’re a fanboy hater. That was pretty much true of older models, but no longer since 1997. Do your research. PS- Never saw a kid’s toy made from GRP.
@ryder187mac “…the Corvette as a car technically is stuck in the past compared to jap electronics and it can’t beat a jap car either on track or in a straight line”
We’ll never know until Japan sends a car to LeMans or the ALMS where the Corvette has been dominating for nearly 10 years. A great car is more than straight-line performance and whiz-bang gadgets. Simplicity is beauty and the Vette proves this. Do your research bufore posting angry nonsense.
@ryder187mac “Then, comes the handling. The Corvette is useless around corners with its terrible handling and suspension…”
The Vette routinely posts in excess of 1g lateral on the skidpad and mid-70′s through the slalom. It’s nearly perfectly balanced and the major automotive publications have been saying so for years. Go ahead. Look it up.
@ryder187mac
“the Corvette is a damn tank….It’s fucking heavy” When was the last time you saw a 3,100lb (1,400kg) tank? That’s 700 pounds (300kg) less than the GT-R.
“Americans can’t make engines for shit, 6.2 liter V8 that produces only 430 bhp?” See Z06 and ZR1. See also Katech C6.R, Hennessey, Lingenfelter, Callaway, Rippie, etc.
“the Japs can tune a 2 liter to that.” We can too, but why would we want to? We’re not paying $6/gallon. Not yet, anyways!
